Volunteer Position Description
Position Title: Community Education Volunteer
Supervised By: Community Relations Coordinator
Brief
Description of the Position:
The Community Education Program’s primary objective is to educate the
community of greater Lansing on the extent and nature of domestic and dating
violence. The Community Education Volunteer plays an active role in strengthening
awareness about domestic violence in the community through public speaking and
outreach efforts.

Duties Include:
• Provide domestic and dating violence and educational materials to businesses,
schools, churches and other organizations
• Provide education to the community on EVE’s missions, goals and
services
• Fill requests for public speaking engagements
• Attend community fairs, conferences, and/or other venues that offers
information on domestic violence
• Assist in updating EVE’s resource about domestic violence (videos,
brochures, and handouts) for use in public speaking engagements
• Provide feedback to the Community Education Coordinator about the effectiveness
of materials used in presentations
• Provide Community Education Coordinator with statistical information
from presentations
Hours/Week:
Minimum 4 hrs/week
