Volunteer Position Description
Position Title: Public Relations Intern/Volunteer
Supervised By: Community Relations Coordinator

Brief Description of the Position:
The Public Relations Intern’s primary objective is to inform the media about fundraising events, EVE’s Inc. needs, and information about the business and social aspects of the organization. Because the organization is dependent upon community support, the Public Relations Intern plays an active role in strengthening the organization’s image as a positive and necessary service within the community. Working within a non-profit organization will provide a unique experience to an intern interested in public relations, as s/he will be able to face the challenges that arise in maintaining community visibility on a limited budget.

• Strong organizational skills
• Very strong written and verbal skills
• Some experience with desktop publishing, data entry, Windows 2002 XP

Duties Include:
• With supervision, create and distribute public service announcements and press releases to local media
• Help coordinate community awareness and fundraising events
• Assist with the creation and distribution of a quarterly newsletter
• Attend community fairs, conferences, and/or other venues to offer information on domestic violence and EVE’s Inc.
• Assist in updating EVE’s Inc. written publications, brochures, cards, posters etc.

Hours/Week:
Minimum 10 hrs./ per week
Days/Hours Needed:
Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
