EVE, Inc. (End Violent Encounters) provides shelter, support, advocacy, counseling, crisis intervention, and other programs to victims of domestic violence. All programs are confidential and free of charge.

In 2005-2006, 417 women and children received shelter at EVE, Inc. Shelter was provided for an average of seven days.

A 24-hour crisis line staffed by trained individuals is available for anyone in need of support; last year (05-06) 1,632 calls were received.

Through community education, EVE Inc. seeks to raise public awareness of domestic violence. More than 5,000 individuals received domestic violence education, in the past year.

The Personal Protection Order Office assists victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in obtaining and maintaining a PPO. Services include court advocacy and technical assistance in completing motions and petitions necessary to obtain a PPO. Last year 4,775 calls were answered and 2,083 new clients were served (05-06).

The programs and services provided by EVE, Inc. are dependent upon the help of volunteers, donations, and the support of area businesses and organizations.
