Help Us Reach Our Goal of $1,400!
EVE is collecting donations to help the recipient of our Shari Murgittroyd Scholarship with the cost of books for the year. The average cost of books for a school year is $1,400. Help a survivor succeed by providing the tools they need to live a life that is violence free!
The Shari Murgittroyd Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the scholarship is to enable survivors to develop skills and mechanisms to live a full life, free from domestic or sexual violence. The intent is to provide funding to facilitate the completion of a one- or two-year certificate or associate’s degree at Lansing Community College (LCC) or a recognized college, university or vocational training center.
Shari Murgittroyd, one of EVE’s former Board Presidents was a long-time supporter of EVE and a fierce advocate for survivors in Mid-Michigan. Shari passed away on August 23, 2020, after a battle with cancer. Shari’s dedication to empowering and supporting survivors permeated her everyday life and she continued her work during and in spite of the serious health issues she dealt with. Her belief that investing in the lives of survivors is always worth the effort is one of the reasons that Shari’s legacy will continue to inspire those of us who continue her work. We are honored to champion the Shari Murgittroyd Scholarship Fund and carry on Shari’s work of giving a voice to the voiceless.
