Medical Advocacy

Medical Advocacy is an advocacy providing support for survivors of sexual assault. Medical advocates provide patient advocacy throughout the Sexual Assault Nurse Examination (SANE) or rape kit at the survivors discretion.

What A Medical Advocate Can Do:

Assist with transportation or safety planning.

Offer resources and share options for survivors next steps on their healing pathway

Inform survivors of their rights and share what to expect during a SANE, allowing the survivor to make informed decisions throughout the process

Offer supportive and survivor centered care
