The Power and Control wheel was created in the early 80s by Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs after listening to victims of domestic violence and finding patterns and themes between their stories. 
The involvement of the faith community is critical in efforts to respond to the problem of domestic and sexual violence and is often a missing piece in coordinated community efforts.
